Ladder Work and Safety Basics – General Industry Applications

This Ladder Work and Safety Basics training course has been designed for those with industrial professions that have an occupational requirement to be trained to safely undertake work activities that involve the use of ladders.

The goal of this course is to help you understand what the responsibilities are and how to manage those responsibilities to protect your health and safety and your co-workers.

This Ladder Work and Safety Basics course will also establish an understanding of the statutory requirements of the federal COHS, Provincial and Territorial OH&S legislations.

We will achieve the objectives through discussion and by participating in ladder skills practice and performance evaluation.

This course will provide the participant with the necessary knowledge regarding;

  • Work Site Inspection and Hazard Awareness.
  • Ladder Inspection and Reporting Procedures.
  • Fall Protection Equipment Specific to Ladder Use.
  • Positioning, Stability, and Climbing Techniques.

  • Powerline Clearances.
  • Pedestrian Awareness.
  • Maintenance and Storage.
