Our Health and Safety Committees and Representatives training course has been developed for employers of federally regulated organizations. Responsible for the establishment of a health and safety committee.

Most Canadian Health and Safety Legislations set guidelines for organizing the committee. This training course focuses on content required by the regulation and ensures committee members and representative’s get training, covering workplace and committee-specific rules and procedures.

We will achieve this through supportive classroom discussion, and by participating in collaborative exercises.

By the end of this course you will have covered the following issues:

• The Code and any regulations made under it.
• The means that allow the committee members and the health and safety representatives to fulfill their responsibilities under
• the Code.
• The rules and procedures of each of the committees.
• The principles of consensus building regarding health and safety issues.
• The process for selecting policy committee members.
• The responsibilities of health and safety committee chairpersons.
