Rural Workplace Safety & Wildlife Awareness

Our Rural Workplaces & Wildlife Awareness training course has been designed for those with an occupational requirement to be trained to safely undertake work activities that involve the possibility of dangerous wildlife encounters.

There are increasing numbers of workplaces in wildlife habitats and worker encounters with wildlife is a high probability. Workers and their supervisors need to be aware of how work activities can lead to encounters and conflicts.

This Rural Workplaces & Wildlife Awareness course will also establish an understanding of the statutory requirements of the federal COHS, Provincial and Territorial OH&S  legislations.

We will achieve our knowledge exchange objectives through classroom discussion.

This course will provide the participant with the necessary knowledge regarding;

  • Responsibilities Working in Rural and Remote Areas.
  • Planning Work Activities and Procedures.
  • Hazard and Risk Assessment and Handling Techniques.
  • Camp and Work Area Storage and Disposal of Garbage.
  • Wildlife Behaviours, Encounter Responses and Deterrents.
